Mary Sachs had a strong commitment to the Jewish faith. In the end, it was what drove her to help others. She was a key player in the Jewish community. She was chairman of the Jewish Relief Drive in Harrisburg. She also made contributions to the United Jewish Appeal. Sachs was able to help a lot of people in the Harrisburg community through these programs. As much as she loved to be a part of the Jewish community, the Jewish community was also grateful and proud to have her help. A lot of people followed her leadership as she ran drives and campaigns for the Jewish community. A lot even people even gave money towards helping Sachs latest cause. Sachs inspired others to want to make a difference in the community (A Letter to Miss Sachs). The city became lovelier through all the donations people were able make to the building of facilities, like the Jewish Community Center, and to the poor.
