Dock felt that Harrisburg was an ideal place for improvements to be made. She stated that everyone should make it a personal endeavor to make the city more beautiful, and gave examples about how citizens can go about helping. Dock wrote numerous articles such as this one, which she used to rally citizens to continue the work she began in the City Beautiful movement.

As a member of the Forestry Commission, Dock was able to further her work in the preservation of nature as she had during the City Beautiful Movement. Dock was the first female member of the Forestry Commission.
